At Bergland K9, I believe that training is continuous, enriching journey for both the dog and their owner.  It's about building a language and bond that lasts a lifetime. 

The name Bergland is more than just a label - it's a reflection of where our heart is and where this journey began.  The word Bergland represents the beautiful area where I live, intertwined with family and a deep connection to home!  It's also a thoughtful nod to my last name, Berger, creating a sense of stability and foundation in all my work.  The K in K9 is a special tribute to my first name, grounding the entire company in my personal passion.

Interestingly, my passion for training didn't start with dogs; it began with the incredibly intelligent world of parrots!!  By teaching these brilliant birds using patience and a reward-based clicker training method, I learned the true power of precise, positive communication. I transferred that same foundation of patience, consistency, and clear, joyful communication directly to K9 training, which is most powerfully realized in my intensive, immersive programs.  This foundation is the secret to creating lasting habits -- not just temporary obedience.
